Our client was riding his motorcycle when the at-fault driver, attempting a left turn, pulled in front of him, causing a high-speed collision. He was thrown over the truck bed and landed on the road, skidding and rolling dozens of feet before coming to a rest. He suffered serious injuries, including a closed fracture of the left wrist requiring open reduction internal fixation surgery that left a significant permanent scar several inches long on his wrist and forearm.
He also suffered a concussion with a period of amnesia, a right eyelid laceration and black eye, injuries to both feet, shoulder, and arm lacerations and bruising, rib pain, right leg edema, and full-thickness cartilage loss in his right knee that later required surgery. He was out of work as a machinist for nearly two months, losing over $7,000 in wages, and cut his treatment short to return to work before ultimately needing the knee surgery. The accident left him unable to ride comfortably, and he eventually sold his motorcycle. The case resolved for $123,126.
