John D. McGahee Jr.

associate

John McGahee is an associate attorney at KNR, where he represents clients in personal injury cases. He brings a unique combination of public service, criminal law experience, and a strong commitment to advocacy.

Prior to joining KNR, John served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Delaware County, where he handled both misdemeanor and felony cases, including juvenile matters. In that role, he was responsible for developing and presenting cases to the Grand Jury and managing a diverse caseload. His prosecutorial experience provides valuable insight into case strategy and litigation.

Before entering private practice, John spent nearly fifteen years with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Beginning as a Corrections Officer, he advanced through multiple leadership roles, ultimately serving as a Program Administrator for Legal Services. There, he managed the department’s small claims docket for all matters originating from Ohio’s 50,000 offenders.

John earned his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 2023 while working full-time, demonstrating a strong commitment to both his professional and academic pursuits. He received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Rowan University.

In addition to his legal career, John proudly served nearly ten years in the United States Air Force as part of the Air Intelligence Agency, completing multiple deployments in support of Operation Southern Watch and other missions. His military service earned him numerous honors, including the Air Force Commendation Medal and multiple Achievement Medals. However, he is most proud of the experiences and connections he made with other military members.

Outside of work, John is deeply involved in his community. He volunteers as a youth sports coach across multiple disciplines, including football, basketball, baseball, and softball, and currently coaches youth basketball at his local YMCA. In his free time, he enjoys playing softball, golfing, and bowling.
