Polar Bear Jump raises Foodbank funds

New Franklin, OH (Akron.com) – Hundreds of participants dipped into the frozen waters of Turkeyfoot Lake at Portage Lakes State Park Feb. 23 for the 16th annual Portage Lakes Polar Bear Jump, which raises funds for different organizations each year. This year, the beneficiary was the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank for the sixth time in the event’s history. Event officials said the jump this year has raised $127,071 to date.
