With more than 3,000 registrants for last year’s event, the four-mile run and one-mile fun run/walk benefits Gennesaret, an innovative all-volunteer nonprofit aimed at providing interim housing, food, training and support services for families seeking to improve their lives.
Sponsored by Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Home Run for the Homeless is the organization’s only fundraiser for the year, significantly impacting its ability to fulfill their mission. Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, the race will start and finish at Gennesaret, with a course taking you through Akron and the Historic Glendale Cemetery.
