Common Causes of Lorain County Car Accidents

There are a number of reasons Lorain County car accidents occur. Some of the most common are:

  • Speeding: Speeding makes it difficult for drivers to stop and remain in control of their vehicles in emergency situations and therefore often results in serious crashes.
  • Distracted Driving: In the age of smartphones, distracted driving is a significant issue. Phones as well as eating, drinking, fumbling with radio controls, and other distractions keep a driver’s eyes away from the road and hands off the steering wheel.
  • Reckless driving: Swerving in and out of traffic, speeding, and changing lanes abruptly are a few examples of reckless driving behaviors that can cause accidents.
  • Failing to stop: Sometimes, drivers ignore stop signs and red lights. When they keep going despite signals to stop, they have the potential to prompt serious crashes.
