Most Common Causes of Car Accidents in Medina County

The most common reasons for car accidents in Medina County include:

  • Speeding: Drivers in the area often disregard speed limit signs and drive faster than they should. When they do so, they may not be able to stop in time to avoid a crash.
  • Distracted driving: In today’s digital world, phones serve as a major distraction behind the wheel. Eating, drinking, talking to passengers, and grooming are other examples of distracted driving behaviors that may lead to accidents.
  • Reckless driving: Reckless driving involves failing to stop at stop signs and red lights, swerving in and out of traffic, disregarding speed limits, and making abrupt lane changes. All of these behaviors can easily cause an accident.
  • Drunk driving: After a day or night of drinking, many drivers believe they can drive safely when the opposite is actually true. Instead of using Uber or asking a trustworthy friend to drive them home, they get behind the wheel and spark crashes.
