Team KNR wrapped up the year the same way we started it – by spreading Random Acts of Kindness! We logged more than 200 hours volunteering, and donated a total of $20,000 through small and large acts of kindness!

Some of our favorites activities included: bringing warm breakfast sandwiches and drinks to the residents of Tent City in Akron, paying off $5,000 in layaways that would have otherwise been cancelled due to nonpayment, delivering said layaways, placing holiday wreaths on veterans’ graves for National Day of Mourning, donating 84 pounds of hygienic items to Haven of Rest Ministries, leaving a treat station for our delivery carriers, handing out gift cards and hot drinks at local gas stations, and visiting nursing homes to celebrate the holidays with their residents. We also collected and donated DVDs and board games for Youngstown’s New Beginnings, a private social service children’s residential center, volunteered at and donated to animal shelters, and donated dozens of books to Akron Children’s Hospital.

As December came to a close, we spent partnered with The Metanoia Project to donate and serve meals to Cleveland’s homeless. After dinner, we presented the organization with a $10,000 check to help them continue to their good work.

We had a great time serving our communities throughout December, and we are excited to share that we will be continuing the KNR Cares campaign for another year! Stay tuned for a big announcement in late January.
