Race 4 Justice with KNR

Jun 14, 2017 Giving    Press Release

The team at KNR is once again ready to lace up their running shoes and “BE A HERO” alongside everyone participating in the sixth annual Race 4 Justice on Saturday, June 24, 2017, in Toledo, Ohio.

The course will be a certified 5k, beginning at the Center for Equal Justice at 525 Jefferson Avenue and will go through downtown Toledo. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Medical-Legal Partnership for Children (MLPC) program to serve more children and families.

As personal injury attorneys serving the citizens of Ohio, Kisling, Nestico & Redick sees a real need to connect people with the medical and legal services they desperately need, despite their economic status. That’s why we are pleased to join the MLPC and their partnership of pediatric, obstetric, and mental health providers and poverty law attorneys in their work to improve the health and well-being of underserved children and families in Toledo and Lucas County.

In addition to participating in the event, KNR is sponsoring the event at the “Friend of Justice” level.

The Toledo MLPC was developed to give doctors and lawyers the opportunity to work together, so they can identify legal and social issues negatively impacting child health and well-being as well as find ways to address them. Since 2007, the MLPC has helped thousands of pediatric patients and their families with several types of legal issues such as obtaining access to health care, public benefits, safe and affordable housing, appropriate special education services, securing custody for relative caregivers, and resolving health-related consumer matters.

Registration for the race will start at 8:00 am, with the 5K starting at 9:00 am and a one-mile walk following at 9:05 am. Awards will also be presented at 10:30 am and all registrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

* Timing subject to change.
