Akron, OH, April 30, 2017– Akron-based personal injury law firm, Kisling, Nestico & Redick (KNR) makes a visual display in downtown Akron showcasing a startling rape statistic that lasts days beyond the 12th Annual Walk of Heroes.

For the sixth year in a row, KNR came in first place at the walk by contributing the largest donation, $7,625, for the Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties (RCC). Of the approximately 500 people at the event to support the cause, KNR made up roughly 20% of the event’s entire attendance. Providing a startling visual display to highlight just how many people are truly impacted by gender-based violence, KNR asked a certain percentage of women to dress in black.

“Statistics show one in five women is victim of rape,” says Managing Partner Rob Nestico. “KNR has made the largest donation to the Rape Crisis Center for the sixth year in a row, but we wanted to make a statement that would last beyond the walk.”

KNR supports many charities throughout the year, but this organization is close to the firm.

“The RCC is special to KNR because I served as an advocate in college,” says KNR’s Director of Operations, Brandy Gobrogge. “To see our group come together and raise, not only money, but awareness to the real statistics is truly inspirational.”

The Walk of Heroes, formerly, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, is an annual walk that took place this weekend to bring attention to interpersonal and sexual violence. The event raises funds for The Rape Crisis Center of Summit and Medina Counties. To date, KNR has raised more than $60,000.00 for the RCC.
