Kisling, Nestico & Redick Attorney Michael Mallis spoke with WBNS about a truck accident in early July and the ongoing investigation that’s gaining national attention. Gahanna native Tobias Forsythe was killed in a crash involving a semitruck on I-71 in Madison County early July 5th. The truck was driven by Bekhzod Asrarov, 42, who had a CDL but does not speak English. When interviewed by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, they used Google translate to question Asrarov.

Asrarov has been accused of tampering with a dash camera, which was removed from the cab of his truck before the OSHP troopers interviewed him. Attorney Mallis explained that dash cameras and their captured footage can be considered evidence, especially if there is a possibility that the driver’s negligent behavior contributed to a crash that injured or killed someone.

The crash is still under investigation, but has garnered attention from leaders in the federal administration, particularly US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, who commented on Toby’s death.
