Our LocationsKisling, Nestico & Redick Managing Partner John J. Reagan was featured on Spectrum News 1 discussing the firm’s new statewide billboard campaign warning drivers about the dangers of distracted driving. The boards feature the winning designs from the firm’s Robert Redick Memorial Scholarship, created by Autumn Fletcher, a senior at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
Fletcher has been a passenger in two vehicles that were rear-ended by distracted drivers, and she hopes the campaign pushes people to take driving more seriously. “I don’t think people realize the blind spot is our phones now,” she said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio has recorded more than 53,000 distracted driving crashes since 2021.
“We started this campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving,” Reagan told Spectrum News 1. “In our practice, we see motor vehicle collisions every day as a result of distracted drivers.”
Fletcher’s designs are now posted on billboards in the Cincinnati area and will be rolled out throughout the state in the coming months. The Robert Redick Memorial Scholarship awards $5,000 to an Ohio student who designs a new KNR billboard for the firm’s campaign against distracted driving, and applications for the next cycle are open through March 31, 2027.
