Nearly two-thirds of fourth graders read below grade level, and the same number graduate from high school still reading below grade level.
To help combat this statistic and celebrate National Literacy Month, Team KNR filled our local Little Free Libraries with books for kids in our neighborhoods. We hope that by making these books available, we can promote reading to the young people in our community.
Additionally, KNR held a giveaway this month in which we presented two of our followers with brand new Kindle Kids tablets as well as Amazon gift cards to fill it with books! Our giveaway was accompanied by a $500 donation to Read for Literacy, Inc, a local organization dedicated to o providing our community with greater opportunities through literacy.
