Our 29-year-old client had the tips of three fingers cut off when his hand got trapped in a press brake. He sued his employer and the parent company. The jury awarded $1,708,000.00 by verdict assessing 7.5% comparative negligence to the client, 40% responsibility to his employer and 52.5% to the parent company. Following the verdict, the case was appealed and the verdict was affirmed and the case remanded for punitive damages which settled for a confidential amount.
