Local families were provided with Thanksgiving turkeys all while collections of both coats and canned goods were accepted to be donated to those in need.

MAHONING VALLEY, Ohio – Hundreds of local families were provided with a turkey for their dinner-table ahead of Thanksgiving with the help of the Kisling, Nestico & Redick (KNR) law firm.

The Thursday giveaway represented the 13th year of the campaign’s effort to combat hunger in the Valley. Along with distributing turkeys at Willard Elementary in Warren, KNR law firm collected thousands of coats and canned goods to support Ohioans in need across the state.
KNR said in a press release that in its 13 years, the Coats & Cans for Kids campaign has provided over 600,00 meals and given out more than 12,000 turkeys to Ohio families.
“Every year, this event reminds us what community truly means,” John Reagan, managing partner of KNR said in the release. “From the families who come out to donate, to our volunteers, and our local partners, everyone plays a part in making sure no one goes without a warm meal or coat this holiday season.”
All nonperishable food donations that were collected during the event are set to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Coat donations will be distributed to Americans experiencing homelessness through Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana
