CLEVELAND, Ohio (Akron Beacon Journal)–
Kisling, Nestico & Redick, an Akron-based personal injury law firm, will give away free bike helmets next week as part of an effort to emphasize the importance of wearing helmets.
Each year, bicycle crashes result in more than 200 child deaths and send another 350,000 youth under the age of 15 to hospital emergency rooms, according to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows adult deaths from bicycle accidents are increasing.
“It’s important kids and adults put on a helmet every time they hop on their bike—helmets can reduce brain injuries by more than 50%,” John Reagan, the managing partner at KNR, said in a news release. “We want to make sure we’re doing our part in keeping kids and families safe while riding around the neighborhood and parks this summer.”
