Kisling Nestico & Redick collecting sports gear for children in need | KNR

POLAND – Ohio-based personal injury law firm Kisling, Nestico & Redick (KNR) is hosting a sports equipment drive in partnership with Columbus-based non-profit Leveling the Playing Field (LPF).

Between now and July 17, new and gently used equipment for all sports will be collected at all 12 KNR offices, including its local office on E. McKinley Way in Poland.

Items accepted include cleats, gloves, helmets, basketballs, swim gear and hockey equipment, among other sporting items. A full equipment list can be found here.

LPF says the “pay-to-play” sports model has made it increasingly difficult for children lacking the available resources to participate in various sporting activities.

“A Sports & Fitness Industry Association survey found that only 38% of kids from households earning $25,000 or less play in team sports compared to 67% of kids from households earning $100,000 or more,” the non-profit said.

Leveling the Playing Field focuses on redistributing sporting equipment to communities without the necessary resources to expand access and equity within youth sports and other recreation programs.

The gear collected from the drive will be delivered to LPF’s Columbus warehouse. On July 30, members of KNR’s Columbus office will deliver the items and assist LPF’s staff in sorting the equipment.
